We Build Rideshare Platforms in Australia

Australian rideshare is a crowded market with a handful of very large platforms in it. Operators win here by taking a segment those platforms serve poorly and holding it. As a rideshare app development company working in Australia, we build for that, and for the authorisation that comes with it.

Custom Platform Engineering

Custom Platform Engineering

Most operators come to us with a segment in mind and nothing built yet. We start with the rider and driver apps, then the matching engine and admin console behind them. Native for iOS and Android, or cross-platform if budget is tight.

Rideshare Platform Development in Australia

Our Rideshare Platform Development Process

Rideshare platforms here fail on two things: picking a segment too broad to defend, and treating regulation as a launch-week problem. We work through both before writing code.

01

01 Segment and Scope

Which riders, which corridors, which states, and what the big platforms are getting wrong there.

02

02 Compliance Mapping

Authorisation requirements, levy liability and regulated-worker duties go into the specification before architecture starts.

03

03 Architecture and Design

Data model, matching logic, tenancy and integration points, sequenced into releases you approve.

04

04 Build and Review

Rider app, driver app and operations console run in parallel against a shared API, with a demonstration every fortnight.

05

05 Pilot and Validation

One city or one contract goes live fully instrumented, so you know your unit economics before spending on the next market.

06

06 Rollout and Support

Market-by-market expansion, then ongoing monitoring, regulatory updates and roadmap work.

Everything Your Operation Runs On, in
One Platform

One booking flows through all five. The rider books it, the driver runs it, your operations team sees it, and it comes out priced and recorded the way Australian rules require.

A booking flow riders come back to

Riders book in seconds and see the fare before they confirm, which is what booking service providers are required to show.

  • Immediate and scheduled bookings
  • Upfront fare estimate before confirmation
  • Levy, tolls and surcharges itemised separately
  • Wheelchair vehicle and assistance animal requests
  • Card, digital wallet, account and subsidy card payment
  • Live tracking with traffic-adjusted ETA
  • Trip sharing and in-app duress alert
  • Receipts formatted for expense claims

Frequently Asked Questions

We Understand Your Questions

Pick the segment first, then design around its rules. Rider app, driver app, matching engine and compliance layer get built in parallel. Launch one city or one contract, prove the unit economics, then expand.

The platform needs its own authorisation. In NSW you register as a Booking Service Provider with the Point to Point Transport Commissioner. Victoria requires an On-demand Booking Service Authorisation through CPVV. Drivers are authorised separately.

In NSW the operator pays $1.20 ex GST on every booking, lodged monthly with Revenue NSW and in force until 31 December 2030. Other states set their own arrangements. The platform should capture it automatically per trip.

Closing Loopholes made platform operators regulated businesses. Drivers can challenge a deactivation at the Fair Work Commission, so you need documented reasons and an appeal path, transparent pay breakdowns, and consultation records when pricing algorithms change.

An Uber clone app in Australia runs AUD 5,000 to 30,000 and rarely handles compliance or funded trips. A custom platform runs AUD 150,000 to 450,000. The number moves on how many states you launch in and how deep the integrations go.

Considerably. Each state runs its own authorisation regime, levy arrangement and driver accreditation process. Hold those rules in configuration, or your second launch turns into a second build.
